About 72andSunny
72andSunny came out of Los Angeles in 2004, founded by a group that included Wieden+Kennedy alumni, and built its name on optimism with teeth — work that's bright and culturally fluent without tipping into saccharine. Samsung's "The Next Big Thing," which cheerfully needled Apple's faithful, is the clearest expression of the house style: confident, a little cheeky, aimed at exactly the right audience.
Now part of Stagwell, the agency runs out of LA, Brooklyn, Amsterdam and Sydney, with a roster that's spanned Google, Coors, Activision and Carl's Jr. The "unleashing possibility" language on their site is the kind of agency-speak I'd usually red-pen, but the portfolio mostly backs it up. The open question is the one facing every shop that scaled fast inside a holding company: whether the original West Coast spark survives the org chart. On recent evidence, it's holding.
