AKQA was one of the original digital pioneers, founded in London in 1994 and now part of WPP. Long before "digital agency" was a redundant phrase, it was building interactive work for Nike, Audi and the rest of the blue-chip set, and its self-description as a "design and innovation company" is earned rather than aspirational. The work tends to sit where brand, product and emerging technology overlap — the kind of thing that wins at Cannes and ships as a real experience.

What you get with AKQA is global reach with a genuine craft pedigree, which is a rarer combination than the holding-company brochures suggest.
