About Pentagram

Pentagram is the closest thing graphic design has to a supergroup. Founded in London in 1972 and still owned outright by its partners — names like Paula Scher and the late-era Michael Bierut generation — it runs on a structure almost no one else has managed to sustain: each partner leads their own team, takes their own clients, and answers to no holding company. That's why the Mastercard symbol, the Slack rebrand, and a wall of identity work for the likes of Verizon and The New York Times all carry the same Pentagram fingerprint of rigor without house uniformity.

What you're really buying here is judgment. Pentagram doesn't chase trends or volume; it works across identity, editorial, packaging, products and architecture with a craft standard that sets the ceiling for the rest of the industry. The flip side is exactly what you'd expect — this is partner-led, premium, and not built for the brand that needs a fast, cheap turnaround. If you want design that will still look right in twenty years, though, there are very few rooms better than this one.
